Announcement and Call for Papers

FOREWORD

The First “Young Vietnamese Scientists Meeting 2005” (YVSM’05) is organized as a joint initiative of The College of Technology (COLTEC) of Vietnam National University (VNU), Hanoi and the Vietnam Education Foundation (VEF). Young Vietnamese scientists presently studying and working at any education or research institutions inside or outside of Vietnam are invited to participate. For all participants no conference fee is required.
The Meeting aims to provide a forum for young Vietnamese scientists to exchange and discuss their experiences and results from their studies, training, and research activities. This Meeting also aims to foster a worldwide and long-term channel of communication and cooperation among young Vietnamese scientists. The Meeting will be held from June 12-16, 2005 in Nha Trang, a well known seaside resort in Vietnam.

LANGUAGE

English is the official symposium language. Only in special cases may paper presentations be given in the Vietnamese language at the Meeting.

PRESENTATION DETAILS

The program will include the following:

- Thirty-minute plenary talks given by invited speakers followed by 10-minute discussion/Q&A;
- Fifteen-minute oral presentations followed by 5-minute discussion/ Q&A;
- Poster presentation.
- An overhead projector and LCD projector will be available for all presenters. An area of about 0.90 m2 (0.80 by 1.20) will be provided for the presentation of posters.
- A dialogue with prominent scientists at the Meeting will be organized.

KEY DATES AND DEADLINES

· Registration: April 15, 2005
· Abstract submission: April 20, 2005
· Abstract acceptance notification: May 7, 2005
· Full paper submission: May 20, 2005

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION AND PAPER PUBLICATION PROCEDURES

Young scientists, lecturers, and post-docs (aged under 35) involved in one of the scientific areas highlighted above, as well as those holding either a Ph.D., MSc., or BSc., are invited to submit an abstract of their paper to the Organizing Committee for judging. All submissions should be made in English and will be judged for their originality, clarity, contribution to the relevant field of science, as well as relevance to the YVSM. Those selected to make presentations will be notified, after which they will be asked to submit their full paper to the Organizing Committee, which should not exceed six (6) A4 pages. The proceedings of the conference, including lectures delivered by guest speakers, as well as the accepted full papers, will be published by Vietnam National University Publishers after the conference closes. Please refer to the instructions and use the templates enclosed to prepare your abstract and paper. All submissions should be sent to yvsm@vef.gov by the deadline. Please notify the e-mail subjects as: YVSMabstract and YVSMpaper for the respective submissions and your suggestion for your paper presentation. Abstract acceptance by the Organizing Committee will be notified to the authors by e-mail.

Authors whose abstracts have been accepted by the Organizing Committee should prepare a full paper according to the format instructions for authors and send the paper in electronic format according to the Templates provided by the Publication Committee and the corresponding *.pdf files. These files will be used not only for conference reference, but also placed on the conference website for a wider audience.

REGISTRATION

Registration will take place in Nha Trang starting Sunday, June 12, 2005 and will close at the meeting site on Monday, June 13 at 9:00 am.

Thiệt khổ, tháng 6 tổ chức, giữa tháng 4 hết hạn đăng ký, cuối tháng 3 thông báo. Đúng là kiểu làm ăn Made In ViệtNam.

Vietbio ở Đức thấy từ lúc 1 hội nghị thông báo, dán poster đến lúc diễn ra là bao xa?????
 
thường tôi quan sát thấy là first annoucement là trước thời điểm hội nghị khoảng 12 tháng còn BTC chuẩn bị lúc nào thì tôi ko biết.

Tôi nhận được thư mời theo kênh ko chính thức mà thấy site SHVN chưa cập nhật nên post lên. Bác lonxon đừng nhầm tôi trong BTC :D.
 
TÔI đâu có nói vietbio nằm trong BTC, thì tui thắc mắc cái cung cách làm dziệc của dzân Dziệt Nam mình ấy mà. Mà cũng lạ, đây là 1 hội nghị có liên kết nước ngòai (hì hì, gọi nôm na là có yếu tố nước ngòai) mà nước ngòai thứ xịn, vậy sao cũng để xảy ra cái chuyện này vậy ta?

Tôi đóan:

Tháng 6 nghỉ HÈ, sẵn tiện kết hợp SV VEF về VN nên tổi chức luôn, BTC khỏi lo sợ vụ vé máy bay đi về, còn SV được 1 công hai ba chuyện. Hội nghị rôm rả có Ta có Tây vỗ tay lốp bốp ào ào, họp xong chạy xuống biển bơi lội tung tăng, xong leo lên họp tiếp.

Hí hí, coi chừng tui bị chụp cái tội "phá họai thiếu tinh thần đòan kết" khi dám đóan mò thế này.

Cái hội nghị này xa xa đến tháng 9-10, chắc tui sẽ có thể tham dự. Giờ thì chỉ có thể gặp Aladin, muợn cây đèn thần, hô úm ba la cho ra kết quả, thì may ra mới dzìa VN tham dự tham gia này nọ với các bậc anh hào.
